I attended the April 30th Health Care forum by the Gazette. The forum continued to highlight the need for health care coverage and health literacy. Also, anyone in need of a prescription drug card can get one by calling the Linn County Administrative Offices at 892-5000. I had several folks thank me last night for the savings they have received on their prescription drugs by using the card.
There will be a forum to hear updates on the Project Access Program on May 14th. Watch the Gazette for more details. One of the of the forums hosts is Healthy Linn Network.
Also, for those in need of primary physician and health care, please stop in at Linn Community Care. This recently opened federally qualified community health center offers primary health care to all and requires only $10 to begin and maintain your health care. Offices are available on both the St. Lukes and Mercy Health Care campuses.
